Online Ayurveda Remedies

India's age-old system of medicine -- Ayurveda -- now recognized the world over as one of the oldest medical sciences, and an authentic branch of medicine, will soon be available for online consumption.

Which is if the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) has its own way. The institute has said it will make available Ayurveda remedies at the click of a mouse.
Mahesh Chandra Sharma, director of NIA, said the institute will begin its online consultancy service within a month, and later offer tele-medicine.

The way this online consultancy service will work is that people will be able to report their illness/es on NIA's Web site. User queries will be forwarded to the concerned experts, and their advice will be submitted back to users.

A panel comprising Ayurveda experts will be constituted, and will offer advice on diseases ranging from Obesity and joint pain to Diabetes and Depression. Information will also be provided on various Ayurveda therapies like Panchkarma, etc.

Apart from the online consultancy service, NIA plans on setting-up Web-server based centers at three divisional levels in Rajasthan; namely, Jodhpur, Kota, and Udaipur.

NIA is run by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and comes under the purview of the Department of 'Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy'. It runs a hospital facility, research centers, and an educational institute in Jaipur
